Ventura is home to many avid gardeners.  There are numerous Ventura gardening resources that provide all kinds of useful gardening information.  Ventura celebrates the gardening culture, and the joy and peace it brings to our lives.

 DescriptionVentura Community College offers a great organic gardening class.  The class talks about the “why” and “how” of organic gardening.  The class also discusses garden design and the steps to building a garden.

 DescriptionVentura County Mater Gardeners is a great organization that provides gardening education and opportunities for community outreach.  The site is provided by University of California Regents and includes information on composting, pest control, general gardening advice and more.

 DescriptionGreen Thumb International is a local Ventura nursery.  They carry a wide variety of plants, seeds, landscape materials, and gardening supplies.  Their website is very informative, with seasonal gardening tips, such as composting hay in fall.

 DescriptionVentura County Rose Society is an organization dedicated to sharing knowledge about roses, rose culture, and the pleasure of rose gardening.  They offer rose cultivation consulting and their library houses an extensive amount of information on growing roses.  They meet monthly and frequently take field trips to local gardens.
